School's Out for SUMmer... or it's just Friday at 6 p.m.

In my 25th year of life and a year + into my career, the five-day workweek is getting longer and weekends are getting much shorter. Sometimes it scares me that for the rest of my life I will be working 5 days a week with only 2 days off! Two days for R&R, time with the husband, family and friends, cleaning, laundry, etc... It's exhausting just thinking of it.

How good does the end of the work day on Friday feel though? SO good! You get to go home and finally chill, or do something that keeps you up late (not that) and not have to pay for it the next morning because it's Saturday and you can sleep in!

My point, and thought of the moment being: I will never again feel that excitement, relief or rush of the last day of school when you get to enjoy months off. Not to mention signing yearbooks and basically socializing the last couple of days. But, I DO cherish my weekends! The grown-up break.

  1. We couldn't be more on the same page... it's what we dream about.. going to college.. getting a professional job.. but every year when the weather turns nice all we can do is think how nice it would be to have the ENTIRE summer off like when we were teenagers... guess we have to settle for looking forward to the weekends and getting excited when 5:00 rolls around every Friday - things were so much easier without responsibility ;)
